Job Description

The Administrative Coordinator is a permanent position, reporting to the Vice President of Operations. SN offers competitive compensation and benefits based on qualifications and experience. 

Terms: Permanent position, a minimum of 24 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week if desired. Ideally, the position will be based in Kamloops working out of the office 2-3 days per week with some flexibility. Remote is possible for the right candidate, as long as you are willing to travel to Kamloops for training and as needed.

Accountability: The Administrative Coordinator applies a high level of professional maturity and respect while engaging with staff and partners, using proper verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. 

Responsibilities:

The Administrative Coordinator contributes to the success of Strategies North by providing bookkeeping and administrative support, coordinating with the Executive Team and providing support on an as needed basis.

Tasks include:

  • Work closely with the accounting team to provide support in areas including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other tasks as defined by the accounting team to support timely reporting
  • Must be familiar with QuickBooks and be able to complete expense entries, invoicing and support with Quickbooks Time
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts
  • Maintain an organized Google filing system for administrative documents
  • Communicate with employees to clarify and resolve any expense entry-related issues
  • Process and generate accurate and timely client invoices, ensuring proper coding
  • Book travel and accommodations for client visits
  • Adherence to all other company systems, standards and procedures;
  • And general assistance and performing additional duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate level studies or equivalent experience required. At least 3 years progressive administrative responsibilities and at least 2 years bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks software required and Quickbooks Time software preferred.
  • Proficiency with Adobe software, including Adobe Sign.
  • Practical experience and faculty with Google Business applications preferred.
  • An appreciation/understanding of the experience of Indigenous people in Canada and a desire to learn more.
  • Friendly, personable and able to build collaborative working relationships with co-workers, partners and the general public in remote environments.
  • Organized, process oriented, detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written and spoken English required.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $24 – $29/hour or the equivalent annual salary depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Benefits: Health and dental, after completion of probationary period. 
  • Vacation: 3-weeks each year.
