Job Description

Community Analyst is a full-time, permanent position, working remotely from anywhere in Canada and reporting to an SN Advisor. SN offers competitive compensation and benefits based on qualifications and experience. 

Terms: Permanent, full-time, remote position.

Accountability: The Community Analyst applies a high level of professional maturity and respect while engaging with clients and partners, using proper verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail to ensure client and funders objectives are met.

Responsibilities

The Community Analyst contributes to the success of our clients by developing and writing funding proposals for First Nations, development corporations and non profit organizations across Canada and providing additional support on an as-needed basis. Tasks include:

  • Reading and comprehending the criteria of various funding streams at a federal, provincial and private level. 
  • Assessing funding criteria against client projects to identify fit and readiness.
  • Performing research and finding relevant client information that will allow the analyst to create a detailed narrative. 
  • Proposal writing, editing and budget development. Working with internal expertise to support proposal development and strengthen the written narrative.
  • Organizing and supporting internal and external meetings, and taking extensive notes during calls with clients, partners, and funders.
  • Preparing presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Guided community visits and support community engagements in-person and virtually.

The Community Analyst takes responsibility for contributing to the effective, efficient administration and workflow of SN. Tasks include:

  • Accurately and efficiently time tracking using SN time tracking software
  • Maintaining accurate digital filing of SN related documents 
  • Utilization of SN’s project management tools especially as it relates to the development of funding proposals/applications
  • Adherence to all other company systems, standards and procedures;

And general assistance and performing additional duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate level studies or equivalent experience required. A background in Indigenous Studies, Communications, Journalism, or Business is considered an asset, though we are interested in applicants of all disciplines.
  • An appreciation/understanding of the experience of Indigenous people in Canada and a desire to learn more.
  • Friendly, personable and able to build collaborative working relationships with clients, co-workers and the general public in remote and online environments.
  • Organized, process oriented, detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written and spoken English required.
  • Practical experience and facility with Google Business applications preferred; experience with design/presentation (Canva, Indesign) would be a bonus.
